FOUR QUARTETS

2024

CULTURE | ENGLISH | 70 MIN

T.S. Eliot’s Four Quartets are universally recognised as a major poetic achievement of the 20 th century. Their reputation looms like a mountain range that can only be scaled with the best mental equipment and a great deal of stamina. In the last few years of this life, before his untimely death from cancer in 2023, the actor, theatre manager and West End producer Peter Wilson took on the challenge of learning the poems and giving public performances of them. In this film, directed by his friend David Rocksavage and set in West Rudham church in Norfolk, Peter gives his last public performance as an actor, capturing the inner voice of what was the poet’s own final poetic statement. The film is a unique opportunity to get to grips with one of The most enigmatic poems of our age about our relationship with time, the universe, society and our roles within it.
